Making header names valid XML
XML element names cannot contain spaces or start with a digit. Headers like “Unit price” become Unit_price and “2024” becomes field_2024. Values are escaped so &, < and quotes never break the document.
Questions
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is read by JavaScript in this tab and never leaves your device. You can load the page, switch off Wi-Fi and it keeps working.
Can I produce attributes instead of elements?
Yes: set “Write columns as” to attributes to get <row id="1" name="…"/>.
Is the output UTF-8?
Yes, with an XML declaration saying so.
