TSV to CSV converter

Convert tab-separated text, including anything you copy out of Excel or Google Sheets, into a correctly quoted comma-separated file.

How to use it

  1. Paste TSV (or cells copied from a spreadsheet) or drop a .tsv file.
  2. Choose comma or semicolon output.
  3. Copy or download the .csv.

Private by design

The conversion runs as JavaScript in this tab. Your data is not uploaded, logged or stored. There is no account and no file-size paywall.

Why a simple find-and-replace fails

Replacing every tab with a comma breaks any value that already contains a comma, like “Arlington, VA”. The converter parses the TSV and re-quotes fields that need it, following RFC 4180.

Questions

Is my file uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is read by JavaScript in this tab and never leaves your device. You can load the page, switch off Wi-Fi and it keeps working.

Can I paste straight from Excel?

Yes. Copied cells arrive as tab-separated text, which is exactly what this converts.
