XML to Excel converter
Paste an XML feed or export and download an .xlsx workbook. The repeating record element is detected for you, and each child element or attribute becomes a column.
Loading the tool…How to use it
- Paste XML or drop an .xml file.
- Leave the row element blank to auto-detect, or name it (for example product).
- Download the .xlsx.
Private by design
The conversion runs as JavaScript in this tab. Your data is not uploaded, logged or stored. There is no account and no file-size paywall.
Columns from XML
Child elements become columns named after them, nested children use dot paths (address.city), and attributes use @ (total@currency). Numeric values are stored as Excel numbers so you can sum them straight away, while codes with leading zeros stay text.
Why not Excel’s own XML import?
Excel for Windows can open XML through Data › Get Data, but it needs a mapping step and is not available in every edition (Excel for the web and Mac handle XML far less well). This converter gives the same flat table in one step on any device.
Questions
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is read by JavaScript in this tab and never leaves your device. You can load the page, switch off Wi-Fi and it keeps working.
Will it handle Google Merchant or RSS feeds?
Yes. The repeating item or entry element is detected and each becomes a row.
Can I get CSV instead?
Use the XML to CSV converter.
