CSV splitter
Break a CSV that is too big for Excel, an import screen or an email attachment into smaller files. Every part gets the header row.
Loading the tool…How to use it
- Drop the CSV.
- Split by rows per file, by a number of equal parts, or into one file per value of a column (e.g. one file per country).
- Download the parts individually or all at once.
Private by design
The conversion runs as JavaScript in this tab. Your data is not uploaded, logged or stored. There is no account and no file-size paywall.
Common limits worth splitting for
Excel stops at 1,048,576 rows per sheet. Many CRM and e-mail tools cap imports by file size or row count (often 10,000 to 50,000 rows), and many mail servers reject attachments over 20–25 MB. Pick rows per file to stay under the limit you are hitting.
Split by column value
Choose a column and you get one file per distinct value, named after it: customers_DE.csv, customers_FR.csv and so on. Useful for sending each region or team only its own rows.
Questions
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. The file is read by JavaScript in this tab and never leaves your device. You can load the page, switch off Wi-Fi and it keeps working.
Is the header copied into every file?
Yes, unless you untick “Repeat header in each file”.
Will quoted multi-line cells get cut in half?
No. The file is parsed properly first, so a cell containing line breaks stays inside one row.
How are the parts named?
yourfile_part1.csv, yourfile_part2.csv… or yourfile_<value>.csv when splitting by column.
